I don't actually like the time period this game is set in, nor any stealth or steampumk type games I've tried or seen friends play, so I was hesitant to buy this, even with the extreme discount during a sale. It had me hooked from the beginning! I fell in love with many of the characters, I hated other characters because of how they treated me and the other NPCs. It was a perfect combination of technology and magic, with each part challenging enough, without being overwhelming for a more casual gamer like myself. I was sad when I finished the game so I played the DLCs and those were just as good, but from a different perspective. I was so drawn to it, I played through again a few days later, changing the way I played it just to see if I could do, and it gave me a completely different outcome! I played it completely through aobut 5 times, each with slightly different or drastically different gameplay and each different decision made the game different! Amazing! I would recommend this game to everyone!

Although I've only just finished this game, even when I got it on release - I realised that I regret not playing it sooner! There's plenty of free exploration and many "collectables" making Dishonored one of those games that always has something more to see, no matter how many times you travel past that location. Also, one of the perks of Dishonored is that there are multiple endings depending on how you play the game, making the game have that replayability factor. Overall, if you enjoy stealth games with a hint of steampunk and assassination; this game is for you.

Gathered for whisky and cigars: 10/10.
    Go play it.

One of the most fun games I've ever played, honestly.
Endless replayability, little secrets you can find each playthrough...
Definitely recommend this game, for people who enjoy stealth and action alike.
    9.5/10 totes for me.

It's like a 1st person, alternate history, victorian, magic Assassins Creed.

But not so much like Assassins Creed that I end up so bored that I want to kill myself.

    Just the good parts.

    The stabbing parts.

    Before Dishonored
    ┴┬┴┤ ( ͡° ͜ʖ├┬┴┬

    After Dishonored
    ┴┬┴┤ ├┬┴┬

    Seriously though,

    + Fantastic level design
    + Great mechanics
+ Good story (play the DLCs, it gets even better)
    + Stealth at its finest
+ Easy mode (high chaos) included, for those who suck at stealth

    - Stupid AI, you have to play the DLCs to find competent AI
    - It's a bit too easy once you learn to predict the AI patterns

Finish it on very hard without powers/kills/detections - experience the best Dishonored has to offer.
And trust me, it's not just about bragging; once you finish the DLCs, you'll see why the game 'punishes' you with a bad ending if you just go on a killing spree. The story has a great depth and it's worth paying attention to it.

In a time of uncertainty, when the city is besieged by plague and ruled by a corrupt government armed with industrial technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you abilities beyond those of any common man – but at what cost? The truth behind your betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city, and the life you once had is gone forever.Key features: Improvise and Innovate Approach each assassination with your own style of play.
