It's "fine". It never deserved the harsh reviews it used to have. Morons held this game on a pedistol before it was even released, then lambasted it for not being the game they imagined. Humans are stupid. Proof is in the pudding. Metacritic scores set in stone from years ago say this game gets a solid "F". What do current Steam CUSTOMERS say? "Mostly positive". -and that's the experience you'll have playing this game. Mostly positive. Good controls, good graphics, mildly funny, 10+ hour campaign. I could only take about an hour or two at a time, days apart from each other, but I liked it enough to finish the story. More than I can say about a lot of games.

Its actualy pretty fun... must buy if:

-You like old school shooters (its very linear, no free roaming or hub world)
-You like sex jokes (coz there are a lot, and some are reaaally bad)

WARNING: Dont play this if you are a feminist, youll get a stroke. consult your doctor before play.

DN forever also has a suprising amount of variety during the campaign: turret defence, racing, using a wreckingball, areas where you get shrunk, there even is a duke pinball tabel.

Took me 13 hours to complete on hard (after witch insane gets unlocked)
overall suprised me, after hearing all the bad things about this game, a whole lot of fun: 7,5 out of 10

Tip: go to options and check: 4 weapons inventory, otherwise you can only carry 2 weapons

A good old school shooter - Duke Nukem 3D with modern graphics and some good humor (if a little juvenile at times). While it doesnt do anything new for the series, and wont be memorable, I really dont see what the hate is about

Play it on the hardest difficulty. Enable the option to have 4 weapons in the settings. Don't bother looking for secrets like in the pervious games. Pick up the DLC single player campaign, it's the best part. I only recommend buying it when it's on sale.

There's not a lot of fast paced action as you would expect from a Duke Nukem game. The AI is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and you have a regenerating health. I felt like I spent more time running around doing mini-games and getting from point A to B than slaughtering aliens.

Growing up, I was never really all that interested in the Duke Nukem games. Even if I had been, the answer to the question, "mom, can I get it?" would have been a solid "absolutely not." So in all honesty, this was the first Nukem game I've played, and I have to say I actually rather enjoyed it. After reading all the disappointed and "meh" reviews about this game, I wasn't expecting much. I bought the game during a sale and played it when I was in the mood for something light-hearted, and that's what I would recommend for others - buy it during a sale if you want something that doesn't take itself too seriously.

Some of the jokes definitely start to get a little tired after a while (hearing "tonight you dine in hell" a hundred times would probably get on anyone's nerves), but for the most part I enjoyed the wit. I even had a few laugh-out-loud moments. It was also kind of cool to see the numerous references to other games/movies/songs.

All-in-all, I was pleasantly surprised by this game. If you don't expect a game that takes itself seriously, then you just might enjoy it too.

Duke Nukem is the friend you had in high school that you thought was really funny. He was able to be a class clown, always had girlfriends, and was well loved by everyone who knew him. You have not seen your old friend Duke for a while now, and the high school reunion is coming up. You decide to go, and see some of your other old friends. Some of them look really great. Their awkwardness of their teens have changed into something really great. As you converse with your old friends, catching up and feeling nostalgic, a familiar voice rings through the room. You turn to see dear old Duke. Duke, now having been aged by several years, does not look good. He definitely has been though a rough patch. You make conversation with him, and he consistently makes jokes reminiscent of your days in the geometry class you both took together. You, now a mature adult, find the fecal, urine, and sex jokes not that funny. The night has become awkward after seeing how Duke has not grown up, and probably never will.

I had fun with this game.
    It's decidedly pretty average.

Not great but not terrible like many others have said.

At least the load times are only a few seconds on PC compared to almost a minute on console.

    5.5/10

I'm a bit confused why this game receives so much flak for being a bad game, granted YES the game does have a bad storyline, but who cares, the original Duke Nukem also had a bad storyline...

Duke Nukem is great for three things:

    1. Kicking Butt.
    2. Talking Trash.
    3. Run and Gun Action.

All three of those aspects are in Duke Nukem Forever, so that makes this game just as enjoyable as the previous games. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

It'll be the best 80 pence you'll EVER spend.

I purchased this game on sale for around $4 during the 2016 steam summer sale. I enjoyed this game, It's rushed and it's humor might fall appart sometimes, but it's far from being as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Yes, the game was hyped up for around 12 years. So yes, I can understand being upset when this is the game you've waited over a decade for. I however didn't play the game until five years after it's release, so I played it with no history of anticipation, and I must say that it wasn't a bad experience. It's far from being a polished work of art, but give it chance. I must alos say that It's DLC "The Doctor Who Cloned Me" adds a second campaign that's MUCH better than the base game. This DLC is the story we should have gotten from the very beginning. I must also talk about the multiplayer. It's alive, there's about thirty or so players who play online regularly and have formed a rather friendly community. The Muliplayer for this game is one of the best online experiences I've ever had due to the bonds that these people share. If it's on sale, try it out. The games not that bad people.

It's a solid, but mediocre game. Sure, it had high expectations and couldn't fulfill all of them, but it's by far not as bad as people say. It has some flaws, but at least i had fun with it. Only complaint that i have is, that some situations have a really unfair design. Try beating the Octaking on the highest difficulty and you will see what i mean.

This game has, in my opinion, received a lot of unfair flack - many people expected it to be something life-changing like Duke 3D, and that was never going to happen.

Yes, it has some problems. Some of the sections are quite painful, and on higher difficulties the battles can be frustrating. However, it mixes everything up nicely and does a decent job of keeping things fresh. There is still some variety in this game, after all. Added to which, there are sections which are genuinely hilarious.

It isn't the best game, or FPS, you'll ever play, but it is worth a go. If you enjoyed the base game, I would also suggest getting the DLC - The Doctor Who Cloned Me. Worthy addition to an enjoyable experience.

P.S. Captain Dylan is a classic.
