This game sucks you in like no other. Gives you the one more turn game play plus also heart wrenching when you loose your best friend to a move you made. Sorry man.

One of the best games I have ever played.

This is a game about naming soldiers after your friends and then watching them inevitably be brutally slaughtered by aliens. 10/10 game.

Most definitely a pain in the butt kind of game. Very fun, addictive, and challenging. To those who rage quit stay very far away from this game!

Once I had a 1% chance to hit and I got it. Now I spend my hours trying to repeat that success at the expense of my soldier's lives

Started to get interested in XCOM when a friend kept going on about XCOM2. He recommended I pick up Enemy Unknown as an entry into the series, and I'm glad I did (went with Complete though, so I got both Enemy Unknown and Enemy Within).

If you have time and go with Complete, I recommend playing Enemy Unknown first to learn the game, then playing Enemy Within, which adds a lot of elements to the original story, as well as new units and play dynamics.

I rarely play a game to completion more than once, but I've already beaten XCOM twice, and with 40+ hours of gameplay I might play it again in future before picking up XCOM2. Still have yet to try the 'Long War' mod many have talked about as well.

Definitely a game I would recommend for anyone who enjoys strategy games and prays to RNJesus regularly.

This is a game where you start a campaign, play until the 4th month, then realize you made a mistake early-game and ♥♥♥♥'s just been going downhill since.
It's a game where your star soldier gets crit across the map and dies, then you lose the game a month later.
It's a game where you peek a corner then get ♥♥♥♥ed raw by a sectopod just hidden out of sight.
It's a game where you will lose entire squads to RNG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t.
It will frustrate you, rip your heart out and eat it in front of you, mutilate you and ♥♥♥♥ on your grave.

And you will love every second of it.

Auto save is not on default settings, make sure you enable it. Or else you will play 5 hours and lose everything... and i mean everything

Few games get as good as this one.

I've been playing this for years.

I will continue to do so.

This game like to play with your emotions, you have a favourite character or characters, you root for them and hope they will go the distance and win out right and save the world form the alien invasion, you let yourself believe that it’s going to happen and it seems like its going to happen, your so close to being the hero and then out of nowhere, it happens, it all seemed like a blurr, it happened so fast
Out of nowhere your favourite character is horribly murdered right in front of your helpless eyes, you cry and ask yourself what you could have done different, but it doesn’t matter it won’t bring them back, then finally when the initial shock of what just happened has passed, you open your heart again to new characters, you learn to love again, before it happens all over again, again and again like a vicious never ending cycle, until you find yourself crying under your bed

11/10 would defiantly cry again under my bed again

Played through the original Story 5 times:

-Each time I played, first squad gave birth to a legend. "Maple Leaf"
-Maple Leaf is a Mighty Canadian hunter, born to kill aliens and protects newbies and bring them to greatness.
-Maple Leaf is genderless, and comes in many forms.
-Maple Leaf always becomes a Sniper, and has a will of 50-100.
    -Rarely, it is a Psion.
-When Maple Leaf becomes a Psion, there's no hope in surviving againt its will.
-Canadian might flows through Maple Leaf. Thick and Strong.

Killcount: 157 Missions: 237/237 - Has never been hurt, every time on overwatch scores a critical.

The legend of the Maple Leaf will live on every time I play this game again.
    Thank you, Col. Leaf.

Amazing game. It's so addictive, I got it only 5 days ago and I still managed somehow to play 30 hours. It's like an abusive relationship where you keep coming back for more, the game is a very challenging game, and both rewarding and frustrating at times. But I wouldn't change anything about it (well, except maybe a button to unequip all soldiers maybe, but that is a minor pet peeve).

Ok, this is one of my favourite games ever.
Great tactical game with some hardcore elements.
With enough practice, you can bypass all RNG stuff and be an effective commander.
10/10 would get my squad wiped again.
